Shamim Akhtar is the First Pakistani Female Truck Driver from Rawalpindi, Pakistan
Like many cases, hardships followed her way and she chose to drive vehicles to support her family.
She had to take heavy driving license classes to do something for her five children.
Shamim received a public service vehicle license, allowing her to drive heavy vehicles.
This also made her the first Pakistani woman to achieve such kind of license.
She gave the credit of her current progress to Islamabad Police.
“Whatever I am today, it is because of the Islamabad Traffic Police training course,”
Shamim said. she also has some colleagues, due to her strong driving skills.
One of them used some respectful words to praise his teacher:
“She behaves well, and treats us like her sons. We too treat her as a mother and that is how our relationship is.”
I used to motivate myself to do more and bring more back for my children.
Now a single mom has found a second family in the same community of male truck drivers.
Shamim Akhtar hopes to inspire the women of Pakistan through her life.
