Insha Afsar is first female ski racer of Pakistan
Insha Afsar is a Pakistani girl with one leg who represented Pakistan as a ski racer in Paralympics 2018.
In 2005, when the northern areas of Pakistan were struck by an earthquake,
Insha lost her left leg up to the hip. She was one of the 138,000 people injured in the devastating earthquake.
Insha came to the USA after six months of the earthquake for her prosthesis.
After TIMES magazine photographed her, she caught the attention of one of its editors,
who offered his space to her and also sent her to school.
She is now tearing down the giant slalom course at Loon Mountain
as she competes for a top position in the US Paralympic Alpine National Championships.
Insha Afsar competed with more than 40 athletes in US Paralympic Alpine National Championship in 2015.
Today, Insha is one of the best skiers in Pakistan and is going to represent her country in the upcoming Paralympics 2018 in South Korea.
She loves her new life in America and is passionately practising Paralympics.
Insha is not just an inspiration for the disabled girls,
this 20 years old is also a role model for others who are looking for some kind of motivation.
She hopes that her passion for the sport may encourage others,
and she is waiting to see the day Pakistan has many female representatives in different sports.
“Always go with your passion, Never ask yourself if it’s Realistic or not.” Insha Afsar
